Getting involved
We want you to tell us what you think are the biggest issues facing the District and to help us find local solutions. Find out below how you can get involved, both with the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) and with your local community.
Are you a member of the public?
 | Your views and opinions help us to play a key part in improving the quality of local public services, encouraging value for money services and making sure that local priorities are met.
By making sure your views, and those of other local people, shape plans such as the Community Strategy and influence the key organisations delivering services to you - including the Police, Primary Care Trust, Parish, District and County Council - we can help you to influence what happens in your local community. |
Are you a local voluntary or community organisation?
 | Your expertise in working with local communities and encouraging volunteering can help us to make sure we reach everyone in the District and that even groups who have been less involved before have the opportunity to improve their local community and contribute through volunteering.
Our District already has many good examples of effective joint working between voluntary and community organisations, the Parish, Town and District Councils, and other statutory agencies. The St Albans City and District Compact aims to build on these good relationships, as an essential foundation for developing of genuine partnership working. |
Are you a local business?
 | You can help develop the local community by bringing your business skills to the LSP.
Your business planning and commercial expertise together with your knowledge of the local economy are vital to shape plans for the District such as the Local Development Framework and the work of groups such as the Economic Sustainability Partnership. In turn, working together to address issues such as developing local skills, reducing crime, improving the physical environment and encouraging enterprise, will directly benefit your business. |
