LSP Project Groups
The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) has reviewed where local organisations or partnerships have existing plans which aim to deliver specific work under each of the priorities within the community strategy
Where the review has identified gaps in activity to deliver the strategy it is proposed that the LSP will either be the lead partnership or seek specific activity from existing partnerships to identify the practical steps, measures and responsibilities needed to deliver real change.

The Local Strategic Partnership currently leads on five specific areas of work through project groups, each focusing on one of the targeted areas of work in the Community Strategy published in 2007:-
- Providing facilities and activities for young people
- Supporting the voluntary and community sector to provide preventative and support services
- Encouraging and promoting community participation and volunteering
- Reducing our impact on the environment
- Reducing inequalities
These small groups have agreed specific short term project goals and they bring together the key partners within the District needed to achieve those.
Following the revision of the strategy in June 2009 another 2 targeted areas of work have been identified through gap analysis:-
- Promoting sustainable local economic development
- Meeting the needs of an ageing population
Appropriate delivery structures will be agreed over the summer to ensure action to address these new issues is taken either through new project groups or existing partnerships. Full details of the agreed structures will be made available on this website as they emerge.
Each agreed project group will then be developing an action plan for 2009–12 which includes measurable (SMART) targets. These plans will develop the suggestions for action put forward by themed focus groups and will also consider the ideas for improvement submitted through consultation responses to the revised strategy.
Full project plans will be available on this website in October 2009.
